SANSHA TREE ISLAND RESORT HOTELS
#Urban Spatial Planning and Sustainable Landscape Design
Location: Sansha, China
Client: HNA Group Co., Ltd.
Project area: 8250㎡

Qi Lian Yu Island is an important gateway to Paracel Islands. Tree Island is the third largest of the seven islands, measuring about 700 meters in length from east to west and 450 meters in width from north to south, with an area of about 0.22 square kilometers. Positioned as a five-star high-end resort hotel, this project is located on the right bank of Tree Island pier, adjacent to the characteristic commercial street, covering an area of about 1.01 kilometers, with superior sea view and environmental resources.

In compliance with the principle of " Respect for Nature", we interpret the relationship between architecture and nature from the perspective of regional culture, adopting a design approach that integrates Chinese architectural rituals and open marine culture.

In order to make full use of the seaview resources, we combine the topography to create a semi-enclosed volume building, and choose the traditional Chinese courtyard "three courtyards" as the spatial concept, inheriting the architectural culture etiquette of "gatekeeper for welcome, living room for respect, courtyard for rest" to create a harmonious relationship between people and nature.
